This is the incorrect order. True skill comes from messy creativity. One cannot acquire true skill through rote repetition. The information that needs to be imprinted in the mind, to form true skill, can only come about by messy creativity, because this information does not have labels, and thus cannot be codified within textbooks or lessons. First immerse yourself naively into the mess of an area, then see what precipitates out. That is skill.
