The Coming Skill Change

From How it Was Written to How it Behaves

The biggest skill change in the coming age will be the shift in how we validate what we build.

Using computing as an example, validation will shift from how the code was written to how the thing behaves, regardless how it got there.

And how it got there will be largely unknown, in any deterministic sense.

Applies to all types of engineering.

A thing will no longer produce its outputs because of some explicit procedure written within its guts.

A very different kind of skill.
