Intelligence is Meta

The hallmark property of intelligence is self-reference.

Complexity cannot be created without self-reference.

Self-referencing precipitates the patterns that work. It is not a mechanism of deliberate causal events, deterministic machinery or specific things having specific roles.

It is born out of dynamism. It is the dynamism that creates stability where it matters; where problems are solved. As the wave that has form, because nothing internal remains fixed.

This self-referencing does not stop at any physical level. It is ultimately informational, climbing from basic matter into human awareness.

Introspection only occurs in more “intelligent” people because they are more aware, more self-referencing, more meta.

The ultimate validation of a thing or process must be done at the meta level. No specific physical instantiation can be its own validity, as thoughts geared towards the insular and myopic are disconnected and undynamic. Anything not viewed in terms of the higher level group it serves (n + 1) is being viewed incorrectly.

Meta is the epitome of self reference. It is the engine behind all natural pattern and intelligence.
