Enemies at Your Door

The enemies at your door are the lifeblood of your vocation.

They are the substantiation of your ambitions.

No mission is worth its battle cry without throngs of opposition.

Invite them in as Venus invites the fly to her hinged lobes.

Let their vanity push them into your grasp.

Let their words win the vegetative approval of the crowd.

Absorb them into the depths of your insight.

Your invisible ambush will remain latent to eyes coated by narcissism.

Concede all admiration to your combatants.

Let their desperate boughs feed on the mirage of their delusions.

Take nothing…

…until you take everything.
